NOTICE OF GRANT OPPORTUNITY AND WORKSHOPS -- FISCAL YEAR 2008

DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 15, 2008

 

MAXIMUM AWARD: $75,000 for FY 2008

 

PROGRAM GOAL: increase access to computers and technology training in low-income communities.  

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Community Technology Centers (CTCs) that provide public computer access and educational services at least 12 hours a week. 

 

CTCs can include:

public hospitals

libraries

park districts

state educational agencies

local educational agencies

institutions of higher education

other educational organizations (public or private, nonprofit or for-profit)

 

CTCs must be located in communities where...

  at least 40% of students are eligible for a free or reduced price lunch 

 or 

  at least 30% of students are eligible for a free lunch 

 

ELIGIBLE COSTS:

 Training services that use tech to improve academic achievement, career development, and adult education

 Activities that use technology to improve academic achievement, career development, and adult ed

 Equipment

 Software

 Other networking capabilities
